Community

Community involvement is inherent in the way we’ve always worked. We know that great things can be accomplished when a company is an active corporate citizen. Our founder, W.K. Kellogg, was as passionate about his community as he was about his company, and his vision of a socially responsible business was well ahead of his time. More than a century later, W.K. Kellogg’s strong legacy of giving continues at Kellogg Canada today.

Kellogg Canada is a partner and proud supporter of Food Banks Canada, Kids Help Phone, United Way, Children’s Miracle Network, Breakfast Clubs of Canada and various local charities in the communities in which we operate. In the last six years, we have donated over four million dollars in cash and product to various charitable organizations.

As a food company – and one with over a 100-year heritage of nutrition leadership – it makes good sense for us to focus on programs that target nutrition and physical fitness. Many of our brand-linked promotional initiatives are focused around physical activity and/or the importance of a nutritious diet.

And, we have a tradition of supporting programs that encourage physical activity and health, such as our Mission Nutrition* program, which encourages parents and teachers to promote active and healthy lifestyles through a series of curriculum-based resources. Since 2005, Kellogg Canada has also been a proud supporter of Active Healthy Kids Canada, sponsoring their annual Report Card on Physical Activity for Children and Youth - a report designed to offer insight into how well the country provides physical activity opportunities for young people. In 2010, Kellogg Canada was a sponsor of the 3rd International Congress on Physical Activity and Public Health held in Toronto.

While we emphasize these areas, we have also set our sights on other key areas of social need.

Improving Opportunities for Children and Youth

For over 100 years, Kellogg’s has been part of children’s breakfasts. That’s something we believe they need every day. But we also know they need a lot more.
